Low-quality power supply is one of the most frequent and main causes of failure of household, office or industrial equipment. In spite of the fact that the interferences arising in the electric network are periodic, they can have a negative impact on the components of modern electronic devices connected to the AC network.
The protection of such critical equipment or the preservation of data in the event of a power supply failure is provided by UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supplies).
Modern UPSs are divided into three types:
- Backup (offline);
- Linear-interactive (line-interactive);
- With double energy conversion (online).
